AN UNEXPECTED ASSIGNMENT The Fellowship of the Folding ChairsOne does not simply find an empty classroom. |
 |
In every great adventure, a small fellowship must carry a terrible burden across impossible terrain. In ours, it’s six folding chairs through a doorway designed for one person. Behold the Fellowship of the Folding Chairs: an epic quest for an empty classroom, enough seats, and the one chair that doesn’t rock diagonally. The map says to pass the drinking fountain, turn left at the unattended casserole dish, and ask someone with keys. It is not a good map. We’re back together Sunday at 10:30am for fast and testimony meeting. This week’s youth activities span Tuesday and Wednesday, so consult the schedule below before setting out. Even a noble quest gets awkward when your parents drop you at the wrong building. | SUNDAY · OCTOBER 11 · 10:30AM Fast & testimony meetingSecond hour: Sunday School first, followed by EQ/RS/YM/YW. Thank you for helping the Deacons serve young people in our community. | THURSDAY · OCTOBER 29 · 6:00PM Chili Cook Off & Trail of TreatsHighpointe Amenity Center Sign up for chili or dessert and come hungry. The phrase “just a little heat” will once again be doing some very ambitious work. Parents will set up seats around the park perimeter for the Trail of Treats, giving children a candy route away from the parking lot and dark circle road, with more room for everyone to visit. | UPCOMING Put these on the calendar.Tuesday, October 20 · 7:00pm Combined youth pumpkin carving at the church. Fasting can bless those in need, the Sabbath can bring joy, and Jesus Christ offers healing to the brokenhearted. These chapters also look toward the peace and renewal of His return. Talk about it: As you read Isaiah 58:6–11, what is one way our family could help someone carrying a heavy burden this week? | TL;DR The short way there.Sunday: October 11, 10:30am, fast and testimony meeting.
