Smoke Signals
Brisket in elders quorum. A full Sunday program. Someone check the internal temperature of the calendar.
|
|
If you catch the smell of brisket in the hallway this Sunday, remain calm. The elders quorum has not replaced the lesson manual with a meat thermometer. They have, however, brought brisket. Church starts at 10:30, second hour is EQ, RS, YM, and YW, and the week ahead is packed enough to make the smoker look low-maintenance.

Ministering reminder
Make one specific offer
Instead of sending the classic “let me know if you need anything,” try one concrete question: “Can I bring dinner, give somebody a ride, or help with the yard this week?” Specific help is much easier to accept.

Come, Follow Me | August 24-30
“I Will Declare What He Hath Done for My Soul”
Psalms 49-51; 61-66; 69-72; 77-78; 85-86
The writers of the Psalms were honest about fear, regret, frustration, and feeling far from God. They also kept coming back to His goodness and mercy. Faith does not mean we never feel overwhelmed. It means we know where to turn when we do.
|
Talk about it
When life feels discouraging or heavy, which Psalm helps you remember where to turn?
