Youth Christmas Activity – Oak Hills Stake Center

  • Date: Wednesday, December 10 at 7:00 PM

  • Location: Oak Hills Stake Center, 5201 Convict Hill Rd

  • Dress: Christmas pajamas

  • Plan: Watch a classic Christmas movie, send messages to missionaries, and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies.

  • Put on your Christmas pajamas and come watch a classic Christmas movie and send messages to missionaries. Hot cocoa and cookies will be provided!

Ward Temple Trip – February 28, 2026

 

We’re announcing early so everyone can plan ahead. We’d love a strong ward turnout as we each “Do Two” sessions (two endowments, or a mix of endowment, sealing, or initiatory).

 

Our goal is to fill:

  • 10 AM & 12 PM Endowment Sessions

  • Sealing Sessions between 10 AM–1 PM

  • Initiatory Sessions between 10 AM–1 PM

Reservations open: December 1, 2025

We’ll share sign-up sheets soon so we can send you a reminder that morning.

 

We’re also working on childcare options to help everyone attend.

 

Please plan to bring your own ancestor names. Our Family History Consultants (Gina Zatylny, Brian Goold, Don Clark, Kari Golat) can help if needed.

 

We’ll announce a simple post-temple gathering spot as we get closer.

Ministering Matters

 

In Prep & Landing, the elves quietly make sure everything is ready before the big arrival. Ministering is our version of that.

 

This week, consider:

  • Sending a quick “thinking of you” text

  • Dropping off a simple treat or handwritten note

  • Inviting someone to watch the First Presidency Christmas Devotional

  • Praying by name for each person or family you minister to

Ask:

 

“Heavenly Father, who needs a little extra help or encouragement from me this week?”

 

Then act on the first prompting.

December 8–14

“We Believe” – The Articles of Faith and Official Declarations 1 and 2

 

Like the elves in Prep & Landing, the Articles of Faith are a tight, efficient mission brief of what we believe:

  • Who God is and who we are

  • How the gospel works (faith, repentance, baptism, Holy Ghost)

  • How the Church is organized and led

  • That God still speaks and will “yet reveal many great and important things”

Official Declarations 1 and 2 are real-life proof that revelation did not stop. The Lord continues to guide His Church in real time.

 

Family idea:

Pick one Article of Faith each night this week. Have a family member “teach” it in 60 seconds (like a tiny mission training). Ask:

 

“How would this Article of Faith help a friend understand what we believe?”

  • Letting them stop by for a short Christmas message.

  • Praying daily at 10:01 AM or PM for missionary miracles.

  • Feeding them, going out with them, or inviting someone to learn more.

Youth: Regular Wednesday 7 PM youth night plus Stake Youth Christmas Activity on December 10 at 7 PM, Oak Hills Stake Center, Christmas PJs, movie, messages to missionaries, cocoa and cookies.

 

Choir: Rehearsal right after church in RS room every Sunday until the performance on the 21st. Snacks and toys for kids.
