December 1–7: “The Vision of the Redemption of the Dead”

D&C 137–138

Scott Calvin climbed on a roof, put on a suit, and accidentally inherited an eternal job. Joseph Smith and President Joseph F. Smith were also shown something they didn’t expect, but instead of reindeer and chimneys, they witnessed the Savior orchestrating redemption for every soul who ever lived.

This week invites us to:

  • See God’s mercy in action, reaching beyond the veil.

  • Understand why temple work is the ultimate Christmas miracle, families restored forever.

  • Ask: Who’s waiting for me to help their story move forward?

Add one family name (from this side or the other side) to your spiritual “nice list.”

YOUTH ACTIVITIES — Wednesday at 7:00 pm

North Pole shift change: same time, new magic.

Ward Temple Trip – February 28, 2026

We’re announcing early so everyone can plan ahead. We’d love a strong ward turnout as we each “Do Two” sessions (two endowments, or a mix of endowment, sealing, or initiatory).

Our goal is to fill:

  • 10 AM & 12 PM Endowment Sessions

  • Sealing Sessions between 10 AM–1 PM

  • Initiatory Sessions between 10 AM–1 PM

Reservations open: December 1, 2025

We’ll share sign-up sheets soon so we can send you a reminder that morning.

We’re also working on childcare options to help everyone attend.

Please plan to bring your own ancestor names. Our Family History Consultants (Gina Zatylny, Brian Goold, Don Clark, Kari Golat) can help if needed.

We’ll announce a simple post-temple gathering spot as we get closer.

Please mark your calendars and plan to join us!

Ministering Reminder – Be Someone’s Christmas Miracle

Ministering doesn’t have to be big, sometimes it’s cocoa on a doorstep, a 30-second text, or reminding someone they’re not forgotten.

This week:

  • Reach out to one person you haven’t connected with lately.

  • Pray for someone who could use extra light.

  • Bring a little peace to someone’s December.

Christmas magic = Christlike consistency.

Final Thought — “The Santa Clause” Spiritual Moment

In the movie, Scott Calvin insists: “This must be a dream… I’m not Santa.”

But the truth kept nudging him, the suit fit, the sleigh responded, and the magic showed up the moment he leaned into the calling he didn’t ask for.

Sometimes the Lord asks us to step into roles we didn’t expect:

minister, neighbor, leader, friend, bridge-builder, peacemaker, disciple.

And maybe we feel like Scott:

“Surely You meant someone else?”

But heaven sees what we can become long before we do.

When we lean into our callings, even imperfectly, even tired, even busy, the Lord makes up the difference, the Spirit steps in, and everyday moments turn into miracles.

This Christmas season, may we each step into the role the Savior is quietly inviting us toward.

Not because the suit fits,

but because He does.
