COME, FOLLOW ME — D&C 133–134

“Prepare Ye for the Coming of the Bridegroom” (But Also Watch Out for Dragons)

If Shrek taught us anything, it’s that big things can come from unexpected places: an ogre’s swamp, a talking donkey, or a stack of ancient revelations reminding us to get spiritually ready.

 

This week’s chapters call us to:

• Come out of Babylon → or as Donkey would say, “Let’s get outta here, Shrek!”

• Prepare the way for Christ → like clearing the forest path, minus the adorable woodland creatures.

• Strengthen Zion → layer by layer… like an onion. (Spiritual depth > parfaits.)

As we prep for the Bridegroom, remember:

👉 Repentance = taking off the ogre armor.

👉 Obedience = trusting the Lord’s quest.

👉 Charity = Donkey energy toward literally everyone.

Our next Ward Temple Trip will be held on Saturday, December 13. We invite all members to join us for an evening of worship and fellowship.

FINAL THOUGHT — “Ogres Are Like Onions… and So Are We.”

Shrek says we all have layers.

Some sweet, some spicy, some we’d rather no one peel back.

 

The Savior sees every layer, messy core included, and loves us fully.

As we prep for the spiritual season ahead, let’s do what Shrek eventually learned:

• Let people in.

• Let the Lord in.

• Let yourself change.

Because the gospel isn’t about perfection,

it’s about transformation, one onion layer at a time.
