This week, we dive into the Word of Wisdom, not just as a health code, but a pattern of divine protection and spiritual clarity.

💭 Consider:

  • What promises are attached to obedience in D&C 89?

  • How is physical discipline tied to revelation?

  • What might the Lord be trying to preserve you for?

When we nourish our bodies with care and intention, the Lord empowers our minds and spirits to do His work. He wants us alert, ready, and whole, even when we’re sipping green smoothies in pink shoes.

Youth Activities

This Wednesday, all youth are combined at the Stake Center at 7:00 PM for a Missionary-Themed Night, and no, it’s not just more talks in the gym.

Expect:

    •    Interactive activities that’ll actually keep you awake
    •    Stories and challenges to help you see how missionary work fits your life now
    •    A chance to connect, learn, and maybe laugh a little too

 

Whether you’re headed for a mission someday or just figuring out what sharing the gospel even means, this night’s for you.
Missionary work, but make it fetch.

 

🤝 Ministering Reminder

Ministering isn’t one-way. It’s not just about showing up for someone else, it’s about building a relationship where everyone gets lifted.

You never know who needs something this week. Don’t wait to be needed, be present, be kind, be you.


If you don’t know who your ministering people are, you’re not alone. That’s so fetch. Just ask someone or look on the tools app. Probably not in the middle of sacrament. But you get it.

Ward Fashion Week – One Day Only

You are officially invited to wear pink or something fun this Sunday.

 

🎀 Don’t have pink? No worries. Show up in:

  • That crazy suit you bought on a dare

  • A funky tie you’ve never had the guts to wear

  • The bright floral dress that screams “main character energy”

  • Grandma’s retro blazer

  • A bowtie, a pink scrunchie, polka-dot socks, anything that makes you smile

Just keep it reverent. The goal is to celebrate joy, personality, and you.

🌊 August 23 – Ward Activity @ Blue Hole, 6:30–8:30 PM (bring swim gear, ward spirit, and maybe a chair if you’re feeling extra fancy)

🏛 September 7 – Stake Conference (aka Stake Reunion Weekend)

🛣 Temples – Dallas & Houston are open. Organize a carpool. Be the ride someone needs.

Still hungry? Good, the missionaries are too. Keep feeding them.

This Sunday is my last as your second counselor and before I head out with my family on a journey across the world, I want to say something simple and true:

 

Thank you.

 

Thank you for letting me serve. For trusting me. For showing up. For sharing your lives and testimonies and small talk in the halls.

It has been one of the greatest blessings of my life to sit on the stand and see you. Your faith, your kids, your quiet strength. You’ve changed me.

 

This isn’t goodbye. I’ll be back every 4–6 months, and if you’re planning a trip and open to where you go… well, we’ve got room. Come find us. We’d love it.

 

Most of all: remember that it’s okay for church to be spiritual and fun.

Wear the pink shoes. Write the crazy newsletter. Laugh in the foyer. God didn’t create you to check a box. He created you to be you.

And we need all of you.
