Ohana Means Family

News from Earth Unit DS-Ward

A Weekly Update from the Ohana Formerly Known as the Dripping Springs Ward

🌺 Come, Follow Me

Doctrine and Covenants 51–57

“A Faithful, a Just, and a Wise Steward”

Just like Lilo taking care of Stitch (and Stitch… chaotically trying to care back), this week’s reading is all about stewardship. Whether it’s ministering, callings, or just loving your people, even the ones who eat your peanut butter. It’s our job to be faithful and wise in what we’re given.

Try this:

Ask, “What’s one small stewardship God has given me that I can honor more fully this week?”

Then do it quietly, humbly, and maybe with a ukulele in hand.

🤝 Ministering – The Stitch Version

Stitch wasn’t perfect, but he did show up for his family (with alien blasters and a lot of feelings).

Ministering isn’t about perfection, it’s about presence.

Go say hi. Check in. Leave cookies. Bring love.

🎓 Seminary Graduation – Sunday, May 25

These youth have braved early mornings, long chapters, and weird lesson analogies. Come celebrate them.

There might be donuts. There will be tears.

👽 Missionary Moments – Powered by ʻOhana and Peanut Butter Sandwiches

They’re not blue aliens, but they are on a mission from a higher power. Our missionaries are out there daily—teaching truth, spreading light, and occasionally getting chased by neighborhood dogs. Here’s how you can help:

  • 🍽 Feed ‘Em – Missionary dinners keep their spirits and stomachs full. Whether it’s takeout, tacos, or a casserole that “accidentally” has marshmallows in it, they’ll be grateful.

  • 🚗 Go With ‘Em – If you can go out with the missionaries for a lesson or visit, reach out! You don’t need to be perfect, just present.

  • 🙏 Pray for ‘Em – It’s hot out there. And hard. Your prayers matter more than you think.

“When you serve the Lord, you never serve alone—just ask Lilo. Or Stitch. Or your local sisters."

Let’s keep the spirit strong and the love flowing. Mahalo for helping the gospel get a ride to someone’s heart. ❤️🌎✉️

🌈 Final Thought:

Stitch wasn’t made to belong. He was programmed to destroy. But through love, loyalty, and a little chaos, he became family.

Sometimes we feel like we don’t quite fit the mold. Like we’re too weird, too flawed, too “other.” But God doesn’t just accept us in His ohana, He rejoices in it. He sees our potential, even when we crash land. He gives us people to love and places to grow.

So whether you’re the calm Lilo, the wild Stitch, or somewhere beautifully in between, remember this:

“This is my family. I found it all on my own. It’s little, and broken… but still good. Yeah. Still good.”

And in the Savior’s kingdom? That’s exactly the kind of family He builds with. 💙
